What's Coming Up Next?
Join Alive Dance Collective for a second season of literary exploration! With all new choreography, new music, and new guest artists, this show promises to offer something for everyone. Performances are open to all ages. Join us at The Foundry March 23rd at 2pm or 7pm or tune in virtually!
"I had a sneak peak at Brenna Banister's newest work where her quartet allows us to explore the inner lives of alphabet letters. As a kid, I racked up summer reading medals at my local library and this piece captures the michievous wonder that books hold for me. Alive's reprint expands on the success of their 2023 Ink in Motion, which evoked the joy of poking around aisle at All She Wrote Books or Porter Square Books; you bump into old favorites and get introduced new obsessions. Audiences last year lingered in the lobby clearly savoring the expereince," says karen Krolak, Co-Artistic Director of Monkeyhouse . The performance will incorporate eleven live pieces, all of which are inspired by literary content. Works in contemporary, modern, and jazz styles have been choreographed by Alive Dance Collective members Brenna Banister, Katrina Conte, Audrey Hatas, Lila Klaus, Alexandria Nunweiler, and Shira Weiss featuring music by Ben Cuba. Guest artists Kristin Wagner and Eliza Malecki will each present work inspired by their own relationships with literary ideas.
